Doncaster's Local Development FrameworkThe Local Development Framework is Doncaster’s borough-wide plan. The plan sets out the blueprint for growth and development across the Doncaster to 2028 and is split into two parts. The first part is called the Core Strategy. This strategy is now in place and decides what gets built, where and when. It includes the number of new homes we need to build and the amount of space we need to support new jobs and business. Our Neighbourhood Plan must be in line with this document in order for it to pass scrutiny.
The second part of the plan is called Sites and Policies, which will determine the exact locations where development will be built (e.g. housing sites) and areas of the borough that will be protected or enhanced. It includes detailed policies against which we will determine planning applications. In November Doncaster Council asked for views on a list of sites which have been recommended for allocation of housing and employment sites in our community. This consultation has now closed but details of what sites these were can be viewed on their Sites and Policies document. Thorne and Moorends Town Council did have the opportunity to have a positive influence on the allocations for Thorne and Moorends after substantial objections were brought to its attention at one of its public meetings. Upon receipt of the Town Councils comments, many of the sites were amended to represent the views of the community. |
